Penny Cooper headed out early in the morning yesterday for her favorite coffee shop, Penny's Coffee, downtown.
Afraid that Penny's would run out of croissants before she arrived, Penny Cooper hitched a ride with the Pocket Taxi, by Mz.
"That one, please."
Happy and full, Penny Cooper took the bus home.

Wonderful story, complete; well illustrated. More, please!
ReplyDeleteYes, more please. A slice of life!
ReplyDeleteLove the blue coat and the term Pocket Taxi. And a big sigh as we really don't have a coffee shop here.

I loved seeing this story. Penny really looks like someone walking down the street and choosing a croissant and riding a bus, as of course she is.
ReplyDeleteIs she drinking coffee with her croissant? Because this story made me think of Nancy and Sluggo and coffee and donuts. (You’ll see — I linked to your post.)
Thanks for the encouragement, everybody.
ReplyDeleteI feel as if I'm always posting Orphan Red adventures, but looking back, I realize that in recent months I've posted more about them dressing up and less about their everyday lives.
So, maybe I can do more of that. Two of them love it: Penny Cooper and Red Hair Girl are both show-offs, in their different ways (Penny Cooper thinks she's being educational, RHG is just likes to be seen).
SweePo is a lot more private.
MICHAEL: Yes, she really is someone! Thanks for saying.
I'm amazed at how well the Reds show their "someone-ness" in photos.
I LOVE the Nancy tie-in, and, darn, I am so tempted to say yes, Penny Cooper is drinking coffee too, but I cannot tell a lie:
Penny Cooper is a very correct eight year old, you know, and she says eight year old girls should not drink coffee. She had some of Marz's milk (which came in a glass, alongside granola).
The coffee was mine.
This is from before I discovered you and Penny and I love it. I'm going to have to read more.
