Doll Meet

The dolls are meeting each other at my work desk.

Polka Dot was handmade in Poland, maybe in the fifties?
Articulated robot doll was made in China, like yesterday.

BELOW: Purple doll is from Russia. Drum Major is from Italy.

  1. I assume these were all in one donation? One person's collection? Do you have any idea how old they are? 1950s? Pretty cool!

  2. Actually, these are a dolls from different donations that I've been saving in a big tub for a year or so.

I've only started to learn about dolls, so I am no expert, but for sure the ones I've been posting photos of are from different eras, too--
some of the composite or bisque dolls might be a hundred years old.
Not sure about many of them, but you're right---lots are probably mid-century (1950s).

  3. All of the dollies that you have posted should only be adopted by well vetted owners! They are dear!
The girlettes here have been planning a get acquainted party, It's a house full! Delightful!

  4. I like the doll in the spotty dress and red shoes! Czech, Polish or Dutch?

  5. LINDA SUE: I know! I want to carefully vet every person who buys one of the dollies.
I did put out a batch of them for 99-cents each... I will be curious to see if and which of them sells.

RIVER: I actually wanted to take some of their costumes, but on the cheaper dolls, like the soldiers, their clothes are glued on!

GZ: Isn't she great? I looked her up and she's from Poland.
