How Many Pennies Is Penny Cooper?

Tom figured Penny Cooper must be two and a half paper clips high.
I think she's taller than that---7.5" tall--but don't have paperclips at the moment.
"How many pennies am I?" she asked instead.

         .   .   .   Ten!

  1. Ten pennies! The paperclip answer would vary depending on the size of the clips. Here they come in several sizes, the ones my daughter wore as earrings were almost two inches long. We no longer have one cent coins in Australia, but pre-decimal currency pennies were quite large, about one and a quarter inches diameter, so Penny would be "shorter" by several of your pennies. How many pennies if the pennies are stacked?

  2. Oh! A pretty Penny!

I do hope that next year will offer you many oportunities for "delicate arrangements" (among other good things).

  3. It's so hard to judge distance in paper clips. I use inches, Dimi uses something about meters and fractions there of. Then there were cubits.
I sometimes don't get to all the blogs I want to read in a timely manner. I'm seeing your reply on New Years Eve. Ten-Penny is the size of an old style nail using in older style home construction. I now have to wonder if that is how it got that name? I'll need to check that out.
The best job I ever had started as a favor. I did a simple repair job, very simple for me, and that led to a beautiful job that lasted a good number of years. It also introduced me to some of the best people I have ever known.
Ask the gods of the universe, open up and give, that's the answer, I'm convinced of that.
    Happy New Year...
