"Our Lady of the Snows"

Orange and R.O.* are taking turns lifting each other up to look out the back door at the falling snow. Being from Las Vegas, they have never seen snow.

*R.O. says her initials stand for Robert Oppenheimer!!! How weird is that? I think she just likes the sound of "ro" for a name.
Also, she keeps changing her name. Earlier it was Ginger Chew!
(You may remember she started out as Lulu LaFlame. I guess she likes fiery names and just hasn't settled on the right one yet, unless RO sticks).

We seem to have embarked on Nuclear Studies around here...
Started with me reading about Chernobyl.
RO wanted to call herself Cher, after that nuclear site, but I explained about the other Cher. RO had seen Cher in Las Vegas, admires her––especially her costumes!––and doesn't want to drain any of Cher's energy by using her name.

The booklet at their feet is from the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows, Belleville, Illinois (1954). The booklet explains that this title of Mary comes from a miraculous snowfall in Rome in August, 352.
