I found an old, rain-soaked, handmade quilt lying in an nearby alley––come to think of it, the one where I found the run-over toy monkey. Lotta people live along that alley.
Luckily it wasn't stained with engine oil, just gritty and dirty.
It washed up well in extra-hot. I removed its clumped stuffing and gave the beautiful remains to Julia. (Maybe I sent some squares to Art Sparker too?)

ReplyDeleteOh and I used them for my summer curtain project.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely find! Hot water and soap always works!
ReplyDeleteThat quilt was a lot of work. Perhaps the owner didn't appreciate it like some of us would or found it too-old fashioned.

SPARKER: That's right--you posted a photo!
ReplyDeleteKIRSTEN: So true--that quilt was a LOT of work! All hand-stitched too.
