Real bears in this climate (Minnesota, 46º latitude) hibernate until April because there's still nothing for them to eat in the frozen northland. But these toy bears are awake because of the bright and longer days.
They are rather raucous--I think they sense the coming of birthday cake... Most of them are Pisces (Feb 19––March 20), possible because mother bears give birth late in the hibernation period (true).
They are all a bit (or more) worn and holey and need the spa & restoration treatment. Now it's warmer, I won't mind getting all sudsy again.
P.S. Someone asked me how I know this style of bear was sold at the Yellowstone Park gift shop.
I read it several places,
bink remembers her brother getting one there---
and yesterday I found a photo of one with its original tag >
"SOUVENIR OF YELLOWSTONE PARK".
They are all similar but vary in little ways, size, color, texture, eye placement, etc.--the brown one in the line-up above is the only one I've seen, so far.
This color is normal.

According to the North American Bear Center:
"Black bears come in more colors than any other North American mammal. They can be black, brown, cinnamon, blond, blue-gray, or white."
Delightful! One can see the bears area getting very excited for spring--and your birthday--CAKE!
