Masa works
Adding a couple cups of veggie broth + masa harina ("dough flour"––the fine corn-flour used for making tortillas) worked wonders for the too-tomatoey chili:
it mellowed the acidity with a slight earthy sweetness and thickened the chili a bit too.
I will add it to chili again.

Super tasty chili! And good thing too...because we'll be eating it all week..since you made enough for 400! Really, it's quite delish!
