When life feels leaden, nothing fluffs it up for me quite like Shatner. Here is he singing "Keep It Gay" (the song's from a 1950s Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Me and Juliet) on TV--is that Mike Douglas?
Actually, I don't feel very leaden, though things have been heavy lately. I went to see the counselor this morning and talked about making an Action Plan.
I told her that I don't need help thinking-deeply-about-why-things-&-people [e.g. my father]-are-the-way-they-are;
I do that naturally, on my own.
No, I need help activating my Take-Action Self, which mostly stays in sleep mode.
Once again, I enroll myself in C-KAPE for a refresher course with the captain. The very idea puts a spring in my step.

Definitely Mike Douglas, wow, haven't thought of him in a very long time.
ReplyDeleteThanks---I wasn't sure...
ReplyDeleteThere are donuts from Belle Plaine!
ReplyDeleteThat's 1/2 of why I'm in right now too--that take-action self does best with external guides and not as well with more ambiguity (which is often what caretaking is).
ReplyDeleteBINK: Those were the best donuts...
ReplyDeleteJULIA: Yes, that's it---my take-action self gets lost in the ambiguity of life.
