Not wanting to pay $12.99 to eat at a feeding trough in a casino, I had a Snickers bar for breakfast.
Then I walked a mile through the heat to stock up on affordable real food (fresh fruit, bread and cheese) at a grocery store. I stopped for a cherry Icee on the way.
Turns out, there's quite a lot of outside out here.
Excellent reportage! Love the photos. You're doing a great job of giving me a feel of it all.

ReplyDeleteTch! Chocolate for breakfast! Think about your teeth! Have a muffin or something...
ReplyDeleteFascinating posts...!
Don't you feel AMERICAN out there? "Give me land, lots of land, lots of starry skies above, Don't fence me in...."
ReplyDeleteI'm loving loving your reportage. Can't wait to hear what you had for lunch.
Yes, it's very American, and Americans eat chocolate for breakfast!
ReplyDeleteActually, they go to the all-you-can-eat buffet, which I couldn't face, not could I bring myself to pay $4.29 for a muffin, hence the trek to the local grocery store, for fruit, cheese, bread.
I'm really glad you all are enoying this. Writing it up is the best way to digest the overload.
More! More!
ReplyDeleteGimme a minute!
ReplyDeleteI got up at 6:15 a.m., but it takes a while to put these together, and I'm two hours behind you!
I love writing these updates and will keep 'em coming, for sure.
If you do venture out to one of the other casinos, check out the gardens at Bellagio.
ReplyDeleteSo far I haven't left the Hilton except to risk my life under the desert sun to go get groceries. But gardens? That sounds worth venturing out for.
ReplyDeleteAn all American breakfast you know I'd have had the same of with you if there---and we'd each especially have to have our own icees!
