I. Stolen Vehicles
Waiting for the city bus to go home, I saw this little boy--around three years old––playing with toy cars and trucks by his family's food truck.
(The drug dealers are on the other side of the truck. All Service Station! The food truck is NOT involved.)
I'd seen this boy in the thrift store earlier, stashing these cars (ours, not his) in his little knapsack.
Parents leave their kids alone in the Toy section like it's a daycare.
The children tear open the toy grab-bags I put together. It used to bother me. Then, it didn't.
I'd said, "Are you having fun?" and he'd taken one of the cars and showed me how it rolled down a big toy ramp.
