Round up: a few donations to the thrift store
The coworker who was going to do social media has not had time, so she says, so at Big Boss's request I've been taking photos and emailing them to him to post on FB, since I so wisely deleted my FB account and can't be persuaded to make another. I post them on IG.
Cool things that spin:
I like taking photos, but I was perturbed when BB told me someone complained this photo I'd posted on IG, below, was "inappropriate".
I said okay, but upon reflection I didn't. My comment was mildly mocking, but for f's sake, it's a safety tag!:
St. Vinny says, “Don’t plug Baby in.”
You’re welcome.
BELOW: A coworker and I goofing around in the back, in donated headbands:
I've been pulling objects from metal recycling that might provide parts for a spaceship. I saw a face too in this old battery charger:
I sort toys as well as books, since the volunteer who did toys quit a year ago.
We get a lot of stuffed animals---half of them so dirty I have to throw them out. I'm not too strict though (unlike most thrift stores) because as a shopper, I always wanted the interesting, imperfect animals I was happy to wash and repair.
I price them .49 to $1.99, but we had so many, I put them on sale at 25¢ each.
Aaaand... a couple Curious Donations.
Usually the dirt on stuffies is from fingers (or other body parts), but in this case it's glue--I guess these bears were mounted on the wall. Into the textile recycling they went.
And a toilet plunger with no handle:
You wonder about the history of some donations.
ReplyDeleteHope the move soft toys move at that price!!
GZ: I do wonder about lots of items' history!
ReplyDeleteThe soft toys are almost all gone in a week.
You could sell the last item a plunger mute for trumpet. No handle needed. : )
ReplyDeletefor 25 cents I would have bought almost all of those! Marvin the Martian! And Elmo!
ReplyDeleteMICHAEL: A trumpet mute! Why didn't I think of that?
ReplyDelete(Susan Art Sparker suggested a plant stand.)
I really should have put it out for sale with a funny note attached--I do that sometimes with baffling books.
RIVER: In fact, Marvin & Elmo sold immediately!
A few of the others are still around--I'll put them in the front entrance-way for free tomorrow.
Ugh! Seeing someone touch that plunger with bare hands makes my skin crawl!
