Try, try, trying to paint faces...

These are awkward, but I’m proud of having started and I want to save and share my first attempts watercoloring my faces for Murderbot:
the Basque woman for Abene, left, and the queer rodeo rider for Murderbot.
(Goauche, not water-based markers.)

And now I'm going to buy watercolor paper because this sketch paper of course is not up to heavy water-- it buckled.

Watercolour paper? I did not know there was such a thing. Just shows how little I know about painting.

Hi, River!
There are zillions of kinds of paper!
Watercolor paper is thick enough to get wet, or to support a lot of heavier media without ripping or buckling.
Sketch paper is thinner, for drawing with pencils.
