It's January 1, 2021: Happy New Year's Day, everyone!
Here are the girlettes on New Year's Eve at the backyard bonfire last night. Penny Cooper may have become a little tipsy from the champagne (prosecco) fumes. She is wearing the bottle's wire hood.
L to R: Penny Cooper, Eeble, and Spike. Standing, in the white sweater, is new Tall Doll.
The character of
Miss Clavel was a nurse at Madeline's boarding school in Paris, but this
doll is not that. (And none of the girlettes is Madeline. "She lives in London with Racer," they say).
I wasn't sure Tall Doll'd be okay here, but she seems to be.
I'm not even sure why I got her--she came with a girlette (the new Noodle, below).
The first thing she did was cut her hair and her dress, which looked
like a nun's habit. She turned out to be much younger than
"marketed"---maybe mid-teens?
We don't know yet, but Tall Doll might be the girlettes' older
cousin?
(Not that they are sisters to one another; they share the
mysterious relationship of being "Orphan Reds".)
So, this has been my first post of 2021. It looks like 2021 may be much like 2020: FULL OF DOLLS.
Yay!
Happy New Year to you all! 2021 can not have too many dolls. Madeline says hi as do Racer and Minnie. They have all eaten too much pudding and were sorry to see the tree go today but happy to see what the new year will bring.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Welcome tall doll and Noodle. Did you make her sweater? It looks very warm.
ReplyDeleteNew dolls! Welcome to both of them. I don't have much hope of finding any here in Australia, the thrift shops here mostly have really big hard plastic dolls and stuffed toys.
ReplyDeleteBig doll looks like a Genevieve.
So very happy to be acquainted with Tall Doll! I wish her (and Noodle) a happy stay at your home; and I whish you all a happy New Year!
