Remember the potato that had sprouted in the thrift store during Stay-at-Home?
And how I took it home and planted it?
I come home to see--below-- Frederic the Potato is a big plant now.
The girlette Col. Tara is Protector of the Potato---she loves wearing her raincoat for her duties, this rainy summer.

We are resilient!
I thought Frederick disappeared during the riots? Or was injured somehow? At any rate, I'm glad to see he survived and sprouted. You (and Col. Tara) will have potatoes this fall!
ReplyDeleteThis seems like a children’s story that wrote itself (that is, once you rescued the potato).
ReplyDeleteSTEVE: You remember correctly---my coworkers found Frederic under a shelf when we first went back into the store after Stay-at-Home orders eased.
ReplyDeleteI put the potato is a art-glass candy dish.
When the store was ransacked during the riots, that pink dish was smashed, and Frederic's hold on life was pretty iffy... (That is, I worried he'd started to rot and would not grow.)
BUT... Frederic has pluck and, as yes indeed, has survived & thrived!
Indeed--there should be enough potatoes for a girlette.... :)
MICHAEL: I actually was thinking of writing a little reflection piece for the store, based on this potato.
Yum, home grown potatoes :)
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed you made a tiny raincoat with zipper.
