Nap Time

I was lying on my bed talking to bink on the phone this afternoon, and the dog fell asleep in the crook of my arm. This is the only person I've hugged in seven weeks!

He's HouseMate's dog, and I've come to like him a lot.
He's very easy (esp compared to bink's adorable, naughty terriers). He likes everyone, but his preference at any given moment is for whomever is lying down or will take him for a walk. Since these days I do both a lot, he thinks I'm A-Okay.

This could be a "My Pandemic, So Far" portrait. I've even got the Star Trek face mask around my neck (from taking the dog for a walk to the nearby bakery to buy a donut!)--making masks was one of the things I've done too (until I ran out of cool fabric), besides lying around (on the bed or couch, or outside at the lake or creek)... and reading.

I'm sorry the pile of books normally next to the bed isn't in there––that would be representative too.
I've said that I haven't finish any book except The Martian, and it's true I haven't read any books thoroughly, but I've hopped and skipped through a lot of them.
I recently put them all back on the bookshelves.

Right now I'm reading skimming Bringing Columbia Home, about the search for the remains of the astronauts and space shuttle that exploded upon reentry in 2003.

I'm skimming because it's overloaded with boring details. The author is a NASA guy, so it's not surprising that he's (overly) detailed–– and extremely reverential, but that gets in the way of him telling a good story.

It's interesting to read about such very energetic people. I doubt astronauts are lying around during this pandemic, eating donuts with the dog...

  1. That is a real compliment, to have a dog that relaxed with you.
Looking after you as well xx

  2. GZ: Hm. You know, it was the first time he came and cuddled so close like that. He usually takes naps down by my feet.
Thanks for helping me see that.
    He is a big comfort!
