I'd felt sad, you know, watching my
local pub close the other evening for the duration––unplaceabley sad, and surreal, as if I were in a movie I'd seen before. Which one?
Last night it came to me: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
The scenes toward the end when Joel (Jim Carrey) begins to experience the memory-wipe he's initiated that will erase all memories of a failed relationship with Clementine (Kate Winslet),
and then he changes him mind...
He is conscious but powerless to stop it as the memories are wiped or, here in this clip, crumble around him.
