Thanks, Crow and Kirsten! SweePo is very happy in her new dress.
What looks like beads are embroidered French knots. I learned how to make those when I was ten and have always looked for opportunities (rare) to use them again. :)
Wow, I haven't seen French knots that well made since I used to watch an elderly woman we kids all called Grandma embroidering blouses and handerchieves for her relatives. In fact, she's the one taught me to embroider. Haven't done any since my daughter was a child, and my knots were never as perfectly coiled as yours are. Nice work!
How elegant Sweet Po looks in her new, bead-adorned frock! Tres chic!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely an elegant dress and the bead trim is a wonderful touch!
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the dresses I made to wear while in junior high and high school.

ReplyDeleteCROW: Thanks! As you know, those French knots are a little tricky--have to keep the thread tight, you know, or they are loose.
ReplyDeleteMy mother taught me to embroider. I like it, though I rarely do it. Maybe I should buy a kit ...
Perfectly darling!
