Dada Dolls

Hannah Höch with two of her Dada Puppen (Dada Dolls),
representing her daughters Pax and Botta, ca 1916, photo by Willy Römer.

Hannah Höch was a German artist of the Dada movement. Among other things, she was one of the originators of photo-montage.

  1. Absolutely love the Dada dolls. The National Gallery of Art had a Dada exhibit now over 12 years ago which I had the fortune of seeing. Was so cool to see the items in person as opposed to photos.

I don't remember the dolls being shown.

Dolls are a secret passion of mine.

  4. Oh, yeah, bink! I didn't even see that till you pointed it out.

Someone once said Marz looks like Prince Charles-- shared German ancestry??? :)

  5. I wondered about the resemblance, and then I thought, Pretty presumptuous, I've only seen Marz in a handful of photographs on your blog. But I thought there was a resemblance.

  6. MICHAEL: Ha! You and bink spotted it, and I didn't! Maybe I was mostly seeing the dolls?
