Mz stayed up to 5AM after the Supreme Court legalized gay marriage making this historic fanvid:
Starsky & Hutch, "When We Get Married" by Larry Graham.
"Against such things there is no law." *

Very cleverly edited and very funny. Much praise to Marz.

ReplyDeleteMICHAEL: Thanks, I'll pass that along to Marz.
ReplyDeleteGirl has found her calling, I'd say. :)
ANON: Oh, yeah. I know Marz put a ton of work into this vid, but these are just a few of the gay vibes between S&H.
At the least, you could say the show was HoYay!
From the Urban Dictionary
Ho Yay!:
Short for "homoeroticism, yay!", The phrase originated with Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
1-Homoerotic subtext in film, books or movies. Usually followed by a feeling of glee in the viewer.
2-When two males act like they like each other, but aren't *in the show* actually gay. They usually blush around each other, and apologize for no reason a lot.

Totally fab job by Marz!
ReplyDeleteBrilliantly well done.
ReplyDeleteWow! This is either a suberb example of editing, or I missed a lot of meaningful glances when I watched this show back in the day, or both!
ReplyDeleteIs it okay to link it on my facebook page?
And then, if that's okay,I guess I should ask, is it okay to link it to your blog, or would you rather I did it to youtube? (assuming I can figure out how to do either!)
LAURA: Absolutely, share it!
ReplyDeleteANything that's on youTube is meant to be shared. :)
You can share it directly from youtube:
1. Go to it at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLiUb7oY9Io
2. Under the vid info, there's a "share" link:
click on it, and you'll get a row of icons, including the blue Facebook F.
3. Click on the F and go from there.
Awesomesauce!!!!!! Hugest kudos to Marz for this brilliant piece of work — a magnificent contribution to the celebration!!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome. Time to rewatch that show. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're all liking it--me too!
ReplyDeleteThat is an !!!!AMAZING!!!! Starsky and Hutch video. Fantastic conceptualizing and editing!
ReplyDeleteHow did Marz get the videos to edit and what does she use for software? As you can tell, I am impressed.

LAUREN: Thanks, Marz'll be pleased to hear that, from a fellow editor!
ReplyDeleteMostly she imports DVDs and buys music on iTunes to make her fanvids (though sometimes she gets material off youTube, like in the case of Mad Max, where the DVD isn't out).
Her software is the iMovie that comes free with the computer... and her amazing brain (or is that hardware?).
All that, plus a LOT of time.
