"Maintaining low expectations for being understood by outsiders
still serves the Amish well."
--"Bonnet Rippers: The Rise of the Amish Romance Novel",
LA Review of Books, 2013.
The Amish romance novels I mentioned in the last post have, of course, about as much to do with the Amish as romance novels featuring men in kilts have to do with the Scots.
Or, in this case, nuns.

Highlander's Secret Nun description on Amazon:
"Handsome and dark Gregor Carmichael, son of a laird, has decided to become a monk after being dispirited by his unstable love life.
Fate tests him by throwing an enigmatic nun at his path.
"

Amazon Review:
"It's like being sucked into a Scottish Vortex...."
