The Wedding of Anubis & Squiggles

The Wedding of Anubis, the Egyptian god of the dead plushy,
and Squiggles the Bride, Residents of the House of bink

Pinky, Best Friend; Blossom, mother of the bride; and Daryl (from The Walking Dead)

Below: Anubis the Eternal vows to find Squiggles throughout time, in whatever incarnation s/he might take...
(In fact, even five years ago Squiggles looked quite different--here.
I remade her in 2017.)

Hip-hip-hooray for the newlyweds! (The littlest one is Pensive Bear.)

"So say we all!" (Humans below: Fresca, left, and bink)

"Is this interminable?" Penny Cooper asks.

Below: Reward for a good day's work done: Rest!

This wedding took place at the House of Cats where I am sitting.
This is the first time bink--finishing her fifth! month with a concussion-- could focus on so much, so it was an extra success.

She (bink) is herself getting married in three weeks!
(No toys are invited, order of bink's bride, Maura, who is otherwise a very excellent person.)

  1. All good wishes to all partners!

Did you know that Merriam-Webster just added “plushie” to its dictionary?

Me, I don’t understand the difference between plushies and stuffies. Any insight? (It’s a real question.)

  3. ANON: I hadn’t seen Webster’s addition—fun!
I’d say “plushies “ are…. plusher than old-fashioned stuffed animals.
I wouldn’t call an antique mohair bear stuffed with excelsior(wood shavings) a plushy—
    nothing about it is soft.
Anubis here really is a modern plush toy—
he is covered in super soft material and is squishy to hold.

Having said that, people say “plushies” at the thrift store to mean any and all stuffies (short for stuffed animals).
And the normal word for stuffed animals in Spanish is peluches, from “plus”.

  5. the radiant bride - splendid, she has never looked more lovely. Girlettes did a fine job of being still, not screaming "us!" when the vows asked "anyone object to this marriage?" Lovely ceremony and after wedding photos. I hope there was cake.
    Congrats to Ms.
Bink for healing her head well.
