I've been saving things I've found in donated books over the past couple years, being the Custodian of Book's at the thrift store--- recipes, photos, bookmarks, tickets, notes, clippings, letters, etc.
Here's a first batch of photos--arranged randomly:
Someone is going to regret losing those recipes...or more likely their kids will. "Remember when mom used to make Granny's pancakes...if only we still had the recipe."
