"baby Jesus is a strawberry shortcake eraser"; Minimalist Manger Round-Up

A few more "what you have on hand" mangers, inspired by minimalist nativity scenes [Guardian article]; but to me more like, "The closest I can come to Xmas decorations during a pandemic is the detritus of my desk drawer"

Each is a total delight: Thanks, everyone!

(The jumble of desk junk as straw for the manger is genius.)

 

2. Mike, a guy I met on Camino in 2001 and remet on FB (a nice thing I can credit FB for):
"I thought the SBUX gift card as baby jesus was a nice touch personally."
I like the glowing light myself.

4. Michael of Orange Crate Art: "I just repurposed some of the little people from a bookshelf."
(What do you mean, just? Also--the towel. Very Douglas Adams.)

5. Sarah at Circles of Rain made two minimalist mangers.
First this one with antique pipe bowls and stems (I recognized them from Detectorists!). They are surprisingly tender.

and this one made of bits of soap, which truly brightens my life as the soap seems to glow with the light of the season. :)
