A couple heavy hitters to add to the Pandemic Playlist
I. Childish Gambino, (2018) "This Is America"
From Michael, who didn't suggest this re the pandemic; he was pointing out that C.B. is Donald Glover (who I'd mentioned as an actor in Community & The Martian).
But youtube commenters make a connection:
"This is America Covid19 killing people and the President is sleeping on us."
(It reminds me of how my coworker Mr Furniture, when some new bullshit comes down, always wryly says, "Welcome to America." In his life, the virus is just one more bullshit thing.)
II. "Always the Sun," (1986) The Stranglers
From Tororo, a good friend of the Girlettesđź’–đź’•
Hopeful? Ironic? You decide.
"....the Politicians and leaders, when they do things by half,
Who gets the job of pushing the knob?
That sort of responsibility, you draw straws for it if you're mad enough."
