Someplace dope to go...

I snapped this ^ in my room this morning specifically for the thrift store's social media (and posted it on mine too, obviously). All libraries are closed (I even saw a CLOSED sign on a Little Free Library)--a woman had come into the store on Tuesday (only day I worked this week) and bought 30 books.

The thrift store is not closing till this afternoon, four days after the governor ordered statewide mandatory closings of restaurants & the like, and suggested all other nonessential businesses close too.

The long delay was the sole decision of E.D. (executive director, the boss of Big Boss). He runs the place as a one-man-show. The E.D. Show. I didn't respect him much before, and I respect him less now:

Anyway, I'm pleased with what I've put together for the store at this time, including using a shot of Earth from space from 1969 as background for the "poem" that E.D. requested (the first time E.D.'s ever asked me to put anything online).

"And the people stayed home" is fantasy goop (it's like saying, "We went home and ate healthy, and afterwards never ate junk again"--yeah, right.) I pretty much hate it, but it's going around like a virus, so it must give comfort and hope to some.

And, after all, the store's FB/IG is not "my" social media!
It actually helps to have to post something I dislike, to help me remember this is to and from people who are not like me.

I'm most proud of the mashup of the coronavirus + St. Patrick's Day (Edna O'Brien's House of Splendid Isolation), on March 17.
(Plus a mirror, heh heh...) But I know mine is a minority view. 

The idea for the matches came from bink, who saw something like it from the Greek government.

I'd been posting more upbeat stuff, due to all the fear swirling around. I checked with Big Boss, however, about what we should be projecting, and he said he wanted something more serious.

I whipped out the "Be the One" macro and showed it to him

"You are really dope," he said.

I thereupon proved I am so. not. dope. by squeeing like a fangirl and asking him to PUT THAT IN WRITING.
Which he did!
