The Official Announcement of Penny Cooper's Candidacy!
Hoisting the banner on the windy back porch was a challenge.

Penny Cooper has a June birthday (Gemini) and very much wanted to declare on June 1. This, below, is as good as the banner was going to get. She wisely declared it "correct enough" for a roll out.
I was going to embroider her slogan, "DOLLS HELP", on the banner too, but there wasn't time. Also because she wanted sandals for today (not sure why), I'd already spent the morning stitching her a felt pair.
My auntie asked if Penny was a Democrat or an Independent. Then Penny thought she'd better put together a doll dossier.
This is what she's come up with so far.

Offices Held: crossing guard; snack monitor; advocate for bears (stuffed); captain of worm rescue (after rainstorms)
Campaign Song: “Everybody Is a Star”
(All the Reds like to sing it together.)
The Birthday Party: I thought of Gracie Allen, but she ran for president on the Surprise Party ticket. Go Penny Cooper!
