After various machines tested this and that (oxygen at 99%), a swab for strep (negative), and a listen to my lungs (clear), the doc said, “You’ve got a virus with a cough.”
“You mean, a cold,” I said.
“A cold,”she said.
“But why am I so sick?”
“You’re not that sick.”
I burst out laughing, and then so did she. She apologized—“I know you feel bad, but your lungs and everything are good. And you biked here…”
“No, no,” I said, “I’m relieved—and you just gave me some perspective.”
But damn, a cold can run you down.
We use echinacea drops in water, doesn't cure but boosts the immune system to help it get rid of the intruder

perhaps not having had a cold in a few years, that our bodies forget what it's like!!
ReplyDeleteif i feel the symptoms coming on i take emergen-c or massive vitamin c although lots of vitamin c can cause a fun body issue!
i will admit sometimes i feel like i just want to have the full-on sick mode so that i can just lay around and do nothing all day and perhaps accompany it with a full-on fainting onto a couch!
