Thrift Fluff 'n' Guns

"You know, don't you, that this is the best bookstore in town?"
A customer made my day, telling me this yesterday. It's not uncommon that people compliment BOOK's, but I especially loved that this guy named my area a bookstore.

I'd put a bunch of Cool Old Books on display.
Why didn't I take a photo of them all? Just this one:

I do Toys too, you know. Old toys sometimes go in my Cool Old Books & Things section.
These little stuffed animals were dirty but too cute to throw out, so I put them each in its own sandwich baggy and priced it 49¢, with a sign saying, "U WASH". I always wanted to find this sort of stuffy in thrift stores, but they usually get thrown out, not surprisingly.
These all sold right away.

I always throw out toy guns.
Yesterday we got two IKEA shopping bags full of them. When I was little, toy guns were mostly small cowboy pistol. Now they are huge automatic weapons--with belts of bullets.
Practice to shoot up your school, kids!

Here's the stash I threw in the dumpster. Mr Furniture came out and saw it and made his usual comment: "Welcome to America."

Sunday coffee with bink is in a few minutes.
I'll close with a happy donation--these little (1-inch) glass bead cats, made in Japan--1960s? I'd guess.
The bag is from a department store,
Donaldson's, that closed ages ago.
