Field Trip in Time

Sister and I took a field trip in her car yesterday to St. Boniface Library, about an hour west of town, where there's a great place for lunch too. Walleye sandwich!

Sister asked a librarian to take our photo, working on the library's puzzle.
Looking at the photos I thought, Yep, this is really and truly what we look like now....  Sister, left, at 63 years old, and me, 61.

I'm still getting used to some things about my old body--especially how my skin has changed. (My hair started graying a long time ago, so I'm used to that.) Sister and I are both lucky to have overall good health, so I'm not complaining. But sometimes the changes startle me. "Is this my arm?"

Speaking of the passing of time... Looking through old posts, I came across the first mention here of "some blogger" Michael of Orange Crate Art: nine years ago, in 2013, I took his advice and bought Tweezerman nail clippers for my father (and then for me--they're great).

  1. It feel strange to be in front of the camera for a change doesn't it!

  2. I remember what a friend, then in her eighties, said: “I look in the mirror and I see an old lady. But I don’t feel old!” The mirror was a liar.

I’m still waiting for the Tweezerman people to offer some kind of endorsement deal. No soap.
