Collected odds and ends for a display of Books from the Pink Bits. (Where do I know that term from? It describes the British Empire on the world map—“ours are the pink bits”. I’m thinking from the movie Hope and Glory? but I really don’t know).
My coworkers know that Queen Elizabeth died, but it doesn’t signify. “She’s not my queen,” the new cashier said. But it’s History, and plenty of book readers care—lotta literature in English because of the empire…
As always, it’s a random sample—(not just literature).
