A Cat for Sarah

Sarah at Circles of Rain has made a wonderful box about these times we are in.

For one of the little scenes in the box, she crowned a china lion (a Red Rose tea figurine?). This medieval illumination of a cat reminds me of her lion.
From a round-up of "ugly" (?!) medieval cats at Bored Panda.

  1. well yes indeed, that is one silly cat! and very fancy! He is making that ugh face because the crown is not to his liking.

  2. LINDA SUE: Right! "Blech," the cat is saying. "Get this thing off my head."

  3. Typical cat -- treated like royalty and yet complaining.

  4. STEVE: LOL! I am cat sitting, you know, and these cats eat food that costs more than human food.
And they are very picky about it.
The girl cat eats the condensed-protein/high calorie dry food the boy is supposed to eat for his health.
The boy cat prefers the yummy but less caloric wet food the girl food is supposed to eat.

  5. Love the picture...but you have to admit those medieval illuminators can’t draw cats any better than I can. Hahaha!

  6. That cat is not ugly and he has very cleverly kept the crown on without blu tack! I love it when they stick their tongues out and forget they are doing it!

  7. BINK: You are not alone in your cat-drawing skills, that's for sure.
They're surprisingly hard to get right, I think.

SARAH: Blue tac! Balancing the crown without it--very talented.
But it looks like blue tac is holding up the curlicue the cat is perched on.

    The tongue is adorable.
