Birthday Bike & Blooms

I've been wanting an upright bike for years, and two days ago, when it was warm and ice-free enough to bike on the streets, I bought this 7-speed step-through made by the Montreal company Opus.

It's the first new new bike I've had in ... thirty-plus years.
I bought it with money from my dad--a posthumous birthday present. (Thank you, Daniele!)

I love it so, so much. It's aluminum, so it's lightweight, but it looks like a heavy old bike. It has a mouse-trap thingie on the back rack, and mud flaps on the fenders.

The yellow flowers are from my friend Rebecca, who came for lunch yesterday.

Thanks, GZ--we've had a huge snowstorm since I bought it and I can't bike yet... :(
Greatly looking forward to it though.
