P.S. Bread Cloth

After writing that last post, I remembered that years ago, a friend living in Bulgaria had sent me a cloth people wrapped bread in--it was just the normal technology there.

But... HAD I THROWN IT OUT, in one of my purges?

No, I just found it. Happy! It's lightweight cotton, embellished with a little needlework and a pretty edging...

I've never used it, but now I will stitch it into a bag and that will suit my needs.

Will it fit in a breadbox?

So lovely! The crocheted edging is a lost art. I'm glad you found this treasure, fresca.p

ZHOEN: And, can she bake a cherry pie? :)

POODLE: Hey, nice to see you here again!
I guess my best-self knew better than to throw this treasure out.

A bread cloth! Of course I need to use one for moving my bread about when I buy it! I can't imagine that they'll let me get it sliced anymore, but that seems a small price for pretty edges and cheer.

Hey, Julia! I'll give you one of my bread cloth bags---I hope the co-op folks would still slice your bread--worth a try, anyway.
