365: Marimekko Psycho

I'd forgotten there's a Finn Style store on the second-story skyway downtown. Yesterday I popped in for the first time and saw a Marimekko shower curtain for $5, down from $49 because a worker had cut a tiny slice in it, opening its packing box.
I had to buy it--it's the same classic poppy pattern I compared to the set dressing of "The Trouble with Tribbles."

I'm not doing many 365 self-portraits--I'm getting to see plenty of myself in my "Making Of" film.

{Today is blog's second birthday!}

Ahh.. you teasing poppygoddess, you! The goddess appears when we least expect--even in plastic skyways to south minneapolis shower baths--(sung to the tune of THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND!) Say, does your camera ever get wet or scratched? I never notice any dust or unintended water droplets in your pics and you take many risks with your camera, no doubt on solo ventures! Amazing, once again! And veriword is "HOTST"--hmmm...

Hi, Stef,

I suppose I am limiting my two-year-old camera's life by shooting in steamy bathrooms and dusty desert landscapes, but so far it hasn't shown up in the quality of the photos.

I was worried about the camcorder out in the blazing sun of Montana and tried to keep it in whatever shade there was, but...
I hope it holds out for many years.

Hey! It wasn't 'til today that I actually saw and read and my brain took in the title of this piece...Duh... I went straight to the image/text and never read the title 'cause since i started schooling, the rebel/anarchist in me always tried to do as much "out of order" as I could manage and not get caught or have the desired product result in the end in just as timely a fashion as if I'd heeded anal instructions....all that aside... whatever our cultural reference points we find the Goddess and all the spiritual in any kind of gaze and all the bits and pieces of the material world...compassion/healing/creation/violence/death/destruction...

Keep Being!

Love,
Stefalala

Sure: Kali is the Goddess too. And, I suppose, even Norman Bates's mom.
