De Düva: The Dove, (1968, 11:46 min.) is a genius parody of Ingmar Bergman (Wild Strawberries + Seventh Seal, especially).
It's subtitled, but it's all in fake-Swedish, so listen.
And note Madeline Kahn's first movie appearance!
I got myself in a Bergamesque twist yesterday thinking about the relationship between suffering and creativity. Then, serendipitously I came across a reference to this movie.
It used to be hard to find--I saw it when I was working at the video/film library of Columbia College, Chicago, in 1987--but now I easily found it online.
I am endlessly grateful for the saving grace of humor.
I'm not a big fan of Bergman--a rather humorless filmmaker. The only film of his I really like is Smiles of a Summer Night, which so far as I know is his only funny film.

I think this is the funniest thing I've watched in a long while. The faked Swedish is sooofunny. Lisa was here yesterday, I had her watch it and she was laughing like mad. I really never knew Bergman had such a keen sense of humor.
