It fits so well. Now I need to see if we have the first movie on DVD. Tim and I first saw it in SC. On the way home, he floored it in the Falcon, shouting, "Worm hole!" It was fun.deannahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16352855975153416194noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7229875339727095184.post-80002033395017973682009-01-14T18:16:00.000-06:002009-01-14T18:16:00.000-06:00Cara Anna!Ho scritto questo con un programma di tr...Cara Anna!

Ho scritto questo con un programma di traduzione sul Internet. I really like your review about TMP! Th...Hi Fresca!

I really like your review about TMP! The director's cut is in the trail of what you wrote. If you haven't seen, take a look at the five seconds cut of the scene between Kirk and Spock http://it.youtube.com/watch?v=GJ4wVjfpoZU&feature=channel_page , I think the meaning changes beacuse of it.
And the more, in the book, written by Roddenberry (it's canon because he was the creator!) you may see that the call from outher space is by V'ger, but the thoughts that the priestess feels in Spock's mind are Kirk's ones! Spock had felt Jim Kirk's thoughts "Spock I wish you were here to understand" and that's why T'sai says "your answer lies elsewhere Spock".
At the time I liked more the book than the film, because there were behaviours unexplained in the movie. Now I appreciate very much the work of Robert Wise, because I think it has been not easy to be able to feature so complex characters and relationships! Sigh, I would like to see alot of other things and more properly about this, but the language is an hard obstacle for me! So, I'm very glad that you wrote so clearly and smoothly in this review a lot of things that I subscibe!
Ciao! Vita lunga e prosperità
Anna (the one of siderum navis)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7229875339727095184.post-33169354037534025802009-01-14T14:06:00.000-06:002009-01-14T14:06:00.000-06:00Oh, well...actually... you were right, Manfred! Be...Oh, well...actually... you were right, Manfred! Because it was a different movie when we were 18! Literally.

The DVD is the director's cut, and while those are often worse, this one is significantly better! A lot of the looooong boring shots of actors staring with wonder at the soundstage (V'Ger) got cut, thankgod, and some of the personal bits got restored. (I think Spock weeping wasn't even in the theatrical release.)

So, if you haven't seen it since then, you might like it more. Or not. I still seem to be one of the only people I know who like Ol' Stimpy.
Let me know, if you watch it!Frescahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15323129046492056942noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7229875339727095184.post-87395156825554880512009-01-14T13:40:00.000-06:002009-01-14T13:40:00.000-06:00You know, I have always said that STTMP was a terr...You know, I have always said that STTMP was a terrible film, but now I have to see it again. Ah, reappraisal...why was I wrong about everything when I was 18? It didn't seem so at the time!ooooooooooooooooooooooooooohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15347076050510425951noreply@blogger.com
