Men Standing on the Edge of Light

I took these photos at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, for the Phillips + Whittier 365 photoblog I'm part of. It wasn't until I uploaded my dozens of photos of people at the museum that I saw the connection between these two, which pleased me a lot.

Great photos, Fresca; especially the second one, which looks like a very good watercolor painting.

I wonder what each was looking at in the particular moment that took precedence over looking at art...or maybe they were using paper or electronics to guide them to it...or neither...

These are beautiful, Batman!
(seems like Batman took them for some reason - maybe it's the perspective + "Men Standing on the Edge of Light")

CROW: Thanks---I too thought the second photo looked like a painting: I was even worried people wouldn't realize it was a photo of a museum patron!

MAURA: I think it's the fact that the men are reading something that makes these photos interesting to me, that makes them a STORY.

MARZ: I didn't want to say, but it *was* Batman who took these... : )

ARTS: Borderlands. Yes.

I know the man in the first photo--he's one of my favorite people. He's been a guard at the MIA for something close to 20 years.

Beautiful- the lighting in the second one. In an ideal world I would put the photos side by side to enhance juxtaposition.

RUDY: Cool! Photographing strangers, sometimes I forget that of course they are real recognizable people, even if their faces aren't visible.

LAURA: Thanks, I loved the light too.
Blogger would let me put the photos side by side, but only if I made them tiny.
