Sepia Saturday

Sepia Saturday: 1913, Houston, Missouri

RIGHT: My mother's mother, Meribel Covert (married name, Davis)
LEFT: Her cousin Fern Owsley Hines

I'm busy writing, or, rather, avoiding writing, which takes just as much (more?) time.
I miss blogging...

Ah, your superpower.
gGodspeed Freska.

(Maybe you could have your valet write for you?)

I would take either of those names over my own.

Envy is something of a besetting sin....

M'RET: Bring on Jeeves!

SPARKER: I love many of the girls' names on my mother's side:
Fern, Pearl, Maude, Helen, Virginia.

Alas, I only got the last name "Covert" as a middle name. (Though there's also Bertha and Olive, so that's not that bad.)

Your grandmother looks quite a bit like your mother in this photo.

I hadn't realized Fern was so much older than Meribel.

MOMO: Imagine how it felt to wear that bow!

BINK: Oh, funny, I hadn't seen my mother in her, but now you say it, I do.
Fern was actually a second cousin, I think. (I get lost in the tangle of family ties.)
