365 - 26: Me and the Pontiac

For years I've biked down a little alley nearby and wondered about a permanently parked, filthy and shredded old Pontiac--I think from the 1940s (split windshields stop in 1950).
It's gorgeous.
I finally got my camera out and my courage up to crawl inside it today. These are some of the shots I got, while worrying I would fall through the floorboards or kneel on a mouse nest. (Click on the photos to see the car's interior wood, leather, and ivory? or bakelite trimming better.)

I can't believe someone hadn't ripped off the statue long ago...in addition to the car not having been towed. Obviously that is one spiritually protected car!

Looks like a bakelite steering wheel to me...but I'm no expert.

oooh, my word is "blosavs"

Yes, what is a car without a shrine?
And what bad luck it would surely be to steal a St. Christopher statue!
bink, I'll have to take you past the car one day--maybe you can tell what material the wheel is.

oooo...freaky...can you see the baby's face peering out from the bottom photo out of the hole behind of the ripped cloth? If it's baby Jesus you could make a fortune setting this up as a shrine.

Hmmm...can't quite make it out, but the Holy Ghost is definitely in residence!
