11:28 p.m. Well, Well,Well

Well, how about that. Sometimes destiny doesn't order the lobster.
My neighbors and I just toasted Obama's victory and admired his good acceptance speech calling for spirit, service, and sacrifice.

(Plus a puppy for his little girls!)

McCain impressed us with his gracious concession speech too. Well done.

Yes we can!

And to bed before midnight, even.

You bet.
I woke up and it wasn't a dream.
The big question mark for me, concerning Obama, is what kind of dog will his family choose?
This will say a lot.

Congratulations and thank you America.

For those of us in the rest of the world, it feels like a weight off our shoulders. This is a new day and a day of hope and joy. I feel like I can breathe again.

What Di in Australia said goes double for many Americans. Now we can breathe again and a weight is lifted from our shoulders. It will be great to have a president who respects traditional American values like the constitution and the bill of rights!

Welcome, Di!
It's great to have the rest of the world cheering with instead of sneering at us again.

Yes, I too am extremely exercised on the question of the puppy. You realise that if they choose a "breed" it will immediately become, globally, untenably popular and churned out by vile puppy farms in bitch-killing, interbred, genetically mutated millions. I really hope it's a... mutt! (Didn't Obama call himself a mutt? does that mean "dog of indeterminate breed" in the US as well as the UK?)

Anyway, I'm rooting for a rescue mutt of indeterminate parentage but clear terrier heritage :-)))

There's no way Obama can live up to all the adulation, but he can at least choose a really great puppy, and that will buy him a lot of forgiveness for the inevitable let downs.
Terrier mutt!!!
